God is a spirit, and the personhood of God-His great love, His power, His wisdom-are unseen spiritual realities, realities that can only be touched and understood by the heart.

The key is to wait for Him in your heart each day as you seek His face. As you give Him your heart, God will give you much more than the things you've been asking Him for; He will give you Himself! I have been a Christian for over fifty years, and for most of that time, my walk with God was hampered by my own weakness and habitual sin. There were times I almost gave up hope of ever being free of my addictions until, finally, inspired by the writings of Andrew Murray's book, Waiting on God, I stopped struggling, rested in the Lord, and began waiting on Him to do for me the things I could not do for myself.

The practice of waiting on God has been, for me, the life-changing breakthrough I've been looking for all my adult life. It's the means by which Christ set me free to walk with Him unashamed and the means by which I can experience His peace and the joy of His fellowship in a new and wonderful way.

Wonderfully Written - Knowing HIM in His Word and Prayer by Thomas J. Mozden is a daily devotional study designed to meditate and dig deeper into God’s Word. 

Each devotional seeks to display and reveal the author’s meditation and thoughts that touched his being, as each scripture verse chosen, he felt led by the Holy Spirit to read. “His Word is alive, and it is here where you will find true life and the gateway to eternal life.” ~ writes the author. He hopes that readers will understand that God’s Word is alive and an all-consuming fire. It is also the author’s hope that each person picking up the book will be touched, inspired, and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ ~ who paid such a high price for the free gift of salvation. 

Several themes run throughout the book, as the author mentions 3 words that are repeated and non-negotiable in speaking of life in Christ. They are: Trust, forgiveness, and love. I love that he begins his book with the scripture verse Matthew 11:28 GNB, “Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.” 

His insights are compassionate, valuable, and give a fresh perspective to many who will come to understand that this author offers a contemplative interpretation of Scripture. I also came to appreciate his wisdom, insight, intelligence, and greatly valued his perspective. 

This book will bring readers into a deeper relationship and understanding of the Word, as they seek the Lord in their own meditation, prayer, and their own perspective. Written for believers, but this also comes as a wonderful book to encourage others to believe in the Lord and to ignite faith, hope, strength, and love through reading God’s Word.
